In a surprise development, it seems the German business confidence rose from 94.6 in August to 96 in September. This improvement had all the people bewildered since all economists predicted that the confidence should drop given the uncertainity in politics, businesses, unemployment etc. My suspicion is that the growth in business confidence is due to the drop of Euro against US Dollar helping improve export profitability for German companies.
